Biography of Shirley Hamblet
Shirley graduated with a B. A. degree in Sociology from the University of Virginia in 1980. After
working in the field of recreation for several years, Shirley began a career in the hospitality industry as the Banquet Manager of an oceanfront hotel in North Carolina. From Banquet
Manager to Director of Food and Beverage, to Assistant General Manager and General Manager, Shirley worked at hotels ranging from Sheraton to Radisson. During the 13 years, she
acquired the knowledge and experience to provide you with the best possible outcome from contract negotiations to on-site services received.
Shirley moved into meeting and incentive travel planning when she made a personal decision to
relocate to the Tampa, Florida area to be closer to family. Since 1998, Shirley has organized over 75 meetings or incentive trips world-wide and usually goes along to manage all of the
details, ensure that everything proceeds smoothly and all guests enjoy a comfortable and memorable stay.
Shirley’s creativity, attention to detail and warm personality have ensured that most customers
were repeat customers, and that a great deal of her new business was generated either from those attending trips themselves as guests or referrals by the same.
Shirley has always been a traveler…and is an avid scuba diver. Annual trips to warm weather
locations in pursuit of the most beautiful fish or interesting wreck to explore have resulted in a knowledge of many of the spectacular destinations in the Caribbean and Hawaii. Shirley spent
that sabbatical mentioned above on a four month back-packing trip around Europe and visited eighteen countries. Since that time, travel with groups from 20 to 2000 across this beautiful
country of ours as well as abroad have broadened Shirley’s wealth of information that she brings to the table.
